Wine Merchants

fine wineS & local spiritS FROM the cotswolds AND BEYOND

If you are looking for a quality wine retailer with a selection that will both delight and intrigue you, a visit to Teddington Stores is a must. From our selection of wines from smaller vineyards to local craft spirits and ales, we have them all and we also stock grand marque champagnes from Pol Roger. In addition, we host very popular food and wine evenings, which are a great way to try something new.

Wines

Teddington Stores is the home of wines of distinction from home and abroad. We have wines that predominately come from smaller wineries, so you’ll always find something a little different. We pride ourselves on finding wines that over-deliver.

We stock wines from a number of grape varieties and countries. We have a selection of fine wines from France, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Chile and New Zealand, not forgetting those on our door step. We are always looking to expand on our wines of distinction and regularly bring in new and interesting wines.

Food & Wine Evenings

We host food and wine evenings, which have proved really popular for our customers - we choose a wine producing area and showcase five wines together with food prepared by a local chef.

Not only are these evenings a great way for locals to meet, but they are a light-hearted way of introducing new wines.
Champagne

Champagne

We are a proud stockist of Pol Roger Champagnes. This fiercely independent grand marque champagne house produces fabulous champagnes that are the epitome of style and quality.
Castle Brook Champage

Native Wines

We stock a number of native wines, including the lovely Sixteen Ridges wines from Ledbury, and their award winning early Pinot Noir Red - great with venison, duck, lamb, or mushroom based dishes.

We also have champagne - like Castle Brook white sparkling, made from the traditional champagne grape varieties of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay.

This delightful sparkling comes from the Chinn Family who are well established fruit and veg farmers from Herefordshire.
Local Spirits & Craft Gins

Local Spirits
& Craft Gins

Gin reputedly started life in Holland in the 17th century as a medicine for stomach complaints and gout. Juniper was later added to it to make it more palatable. It came to England as ‘Dutch Courage’, given to soldiers fighting in the low countries in the 17th century. Gin’s popularity here exploded and before too long strict laws and duties were introduced to control its over-enjoyment!

The craft gin movement has seen a rapid rise in the number of artisan distillers in recent times, using different base products and botanicals. The Cotswolds and the Three Counties is lucky to be the home of a number of these producers and we’re lucky enough to have a great range of these delicious spirits including local vodkas! There has never been a better time to enjoy quality gin with a diverse range of flavours.

Our local gins come from Sibling Distillery, Cotswolds Distillery, Williams Chase, 6 O'clock Gin, Cotswold Brewing Company, and Gin Dog Gin, to name a few.

We also have all you need to make a great cocktail, with a range of artisan mixers from Double Dutch, Fever-Tree and Fentimans, and unusual local spirits to mix with your craft gins and vodkas.

Beers, Ales & Ciders

Lager
Cider
Ale
The Three Counties has an abundance of craft ale and cider producers.
We have cherry picked a few of these to showcase what we consider a great selection:
Cotswold Brewing Company (who, incidentally, produce a vodka and gin that we also sell) is one of the oldest lager microbreweries in the UK and the first in the Cotswolds. They love what they do and are proud of being independent and family owned. They brew lager the way that German and Belgian breweries have been doing for centuries, using only four ingredients (water, hops, malted barley and yeast). They don’t chuck in any awful additives, pesky preservatives or even pasteurise their beer, as it ruins great flavour. This means that their beers should be kept chilled and consumed quickly (this is referring to the timing of consumption rather than the speed of drinking!).
Cotswold Lion Brewery – the Cotswold Lion actually refers to a breed of sheep with a fast growing, long woolly coat – the source of medieval wealth of the Cotswolds (‘cots’ being the enclosures where sheep grazed and ‘wolds’ referring to the hills). These traditional, handmade beers are of a fantastic quality, with each of their six beers having a different level of malt and hops; an ideal food accompaniment.

Pershore Brewing Company – a microbrewery based in Pershore producing fantastic ales from a range of hops, each combination resulting in a unique flavour.
Severn Cider and Perry – Award winning ciders and perry handmade from traditional fruit varieties selected from local Gloucestershire orchards. They are committed to conserving and propagating old varieties and avoid the use of pesticides and fertilisers in order to produce a drink that is free from harmful chemicals and tastes better too!

Shakespeare Brewing Company - Craft ales brewed 'as you like it' to celebrate the legacy of William Shakespeare – this is a super range of craft ales that aren’t ‘over-hopped’ so to speak and have proved very popular.
